PEOPLE ARE EMOTIONAL AFTER FORMER BLUE’S CLUES HOST STEVE RETURNS FOR HEARTFELT MESSAGE: ‘I NEVER FORGOT YOU’
Steve Burns, the original host of “Blue’s Clues,” recognizes that his departure from the iconic show was a traumatic experience for a generation of children.
In a new video posted on the Nick Jr. Twitter feed celebrating 25 years of “Blue Clues,” he talks about leaving the show and everything that has happened since.
Fans of the children’s show Blue’s Clues are expressing their emotions in response to a message from the show’s former host Steve.
In a video shared by Nick Jr on Twitter on Tuesday, Steve Burns, who hosted the first four seasons of the show and found clues with a blue dog named Blue before departing in a 2002 episode titled “Steve went to college,” addressed his former fans.
Burns created the role in 1996 and, as he explains in the video above, handed over hosting duties to Donovan Patton’s character “Joe” in 2002. Patton held the position until the show was cancelled in 2006.
Josh Dela Cruz hosted a reboot of the show in 2019 called “Blue’s Clues & You!”
Burns wrote and directed some of the new series’ episodes, and he and Patton both appeared in the premiere.
